Fatal Shooting Sparks High-Speed Chase Across Southern California
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Nunez was shot and killed Monday while responding to a domestic violence call in Rancho Cucamonga. Authorities said the suspect opened fire as deputies approached the home, striking Nunez before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. The 28-year-old deputy was rushed to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Suspect Flees at Extreme Speeds Before Crashing
Moments after the shooting, the gunman led officers on a dangerous chase along the 210 Freeway, reaching speeds up to 150 mph. Helicopter footage showed the suspect weaving through traffic and brandishing a firearm as police trailed behind. The pursuit ended in Upland when the suspect collided with another vehicle, sending debris across multiple lanes.

Off-Duty Officer Stops Suspect in Televised Takedown
In a stunning development broadcast live by local news stations, an off-duty narcotics deputy used his car to intercept the suspect immediately after the crash. The impact launched the motorcyclist several feet into the air, bringing the chase to an abrupt end. The suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized with serious injuries. Officials said he will face multiple charges, including the murder of a law enforcement officer, once medically cleared. Deputy Nunez is survived by his wife and young daughter.
