Erling Haaland once again proved unstoppable as his brace helped Manchester City secure a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, lifting Pep Guardiola’s side to second in the Premier League table.
The Norwegian struck twice in the first half, punishing Bournemouth’s high defensive line to take his league tally to 13 goals this season and 98 in 107 Premier League games. Nico O’Reilly added City’s third after the break, sealing a much-needed sixth win of the campaign.
Bournemouth briefly equalised through Tyler Adams, capitalising on a Gianluigi Donnarumma handling error from a corner, but City quickly regained control. Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki were central to the hosts’ fluid attack, while Haaland was substituted to a standing ovation after another clinical display.
Guardiola praised his team’s sharper performance, noting their “control and calm” after recent defensive lapses. City now turn their focus to upcoming tests against Real Madrid and Manchester City, with Haaland once again in record-breaking form.
