Jaguar Land Rover has begun a phased restart of its factories, more than a month after a crippling cyber-attack halted production.
The company said the hack on 31 August forced global shutdowns, leading to a 17% drop in sales last quarter.
Production resumed Wednesday across West Midlands sites, including Wolverhampton, Solihull, Halewood, and Hams Hall.
Plants in Slovakia and other UK locations will follow soon as JLR gradually restores full operations.
“We know there’s more to do, but recovery is under way,” said CEO Adrian Mardell.
JLR also launched a new financing scheme to pay suppliers early and ease cashflow pressures during the restart.
Retail sales fell sharply in all markets — down 32% in the UK and 22% in China.
The UK government pledged a £1.5bn loan guarantee to support the carmaker’s supply chain.
Business Secretary Peter Kyle called the restart “very welcome news” but said smaller suppliers still need urgent support.
