Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie has been identified as the Premier League player allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a football agent in north London.
The incident occurred on 6 September in Cockfosters, Barnet, while Udogie was out with a friend during the international break. Police were called after a man reportedly brandished a firearm and made threats. The suspect — not connected to Udogie’s representation — was arrested two days later on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear, blackmail, and driving without a licence. He has since been bailed while inquiries continue.
Udogie, who was unharmed, did not miss any matches and returned for Spurs’ 13 September win over West Ham.
A Tottenham spokesperson said: “We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so. Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment further.”
The Metropolitan Police confirmed no injuries were reported and that investigations remain ongoing.
