Marc Guéhi headed home a late winner to stun Fulham and send Crystal Palace into the Premier League’s top four, continuing Oliver Glasner’s strong record against Marco Silva’s side. Palace, who beat Fulham twice earlier in the year, once again found a way to edge a tight match despite missing key full-back Daniel Muñoz.
Eddie Nketiah put Palace ahead with a sharp finish on his first league start of the season after excellent build-up from Adam Wharton, but Harry Wilson’s superb outside-of-the-boot strike levelled the score before half-time. Fulham had their chances, including Emile Smith Rowe being denied by Dean Henderson, and later a goal disallowed for offside in the build-up.
As the match grew tense late on, Guéhi rose at the near post to meet a corner and guided his header past Bernd Leno, sparking celebrations in the away end. The defender, whose contract expires at the end of the season, may not be at Selhurst Park much longer, but his winner keeps Palace on an impressive run and dreaming bigger under Glasner.
Fulham dominated spells of possession but lacked cutting edge, leaving Silva frustrated. Palace, meanwhile, continue to grind out results despite a heavy fixture schedule — and now sit firmly among the early-season contenders.
