A major power outage struck parts of Paris and Hauts-de-Seine on Thursday morning, cutting electricity to 55,000 homes.
The outage also shut down traffic lights, darkened streetlights, and halted several metro and suburban train lines.
French media reported that tens of thousands of residents lost power before the number dropped to a couple thousand.
Enedis confirmed that the blackout lasted about five minutes before most homes regained electricity.

    Cause Identified by Grid Operators

Enedis said a technical incident at the RTE substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux triggered the power failure.
RTE, which handles high-voltage electricity transmission in France, investigated the cause of the disruption.
Enedis apologised for the inconvenience and continues restoring service to the remaining affected homes.

Impact Felt Across Transport and Infrastructure

Transport operators halted affected rail lines and worked to resume service once power returned.
City officials managed traffic manually after lights went out across several neighbourhoods.
Residents reported widespread disruption, although normal operations resumed quickly in most areas.
